We all love baby Groot for being cute and funny, this is why we had to add to our collection this baby Groot crochet pattern. It is easy to crochet and the result is just lovely. Don’t believe us? Then do it yourself!

Materials:
- Yarn: YarnArt Jeans or Alize Cotton Gold (brown color for the toy, green to embroider the leaves and black to embroider the mouth
- Crochet: 2 – 2.5 mm, depends on how tight you crochet
- 5-6 mm safety eyes
- Sewing needle and scissors
- Stitch marker
- Fiberfill
Abbreviations:
- mr – magic ring
- ch – chain
- sc – single crochet
- inc – increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
- dec – decrease (single crochet 2 stitches together)
- sl st – slip stitch
- BLO – back loop only
- FLO – front loop only
- [12] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row
- ( ) * x – repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated
Baby Groot crochet pattern:
Legs:
(make 2 pieces)
1. 6 sc in mr [6]
2. 2 sc, 1 inc, 3 sc [7]
3. 7 sc [7]
FO, leave a long yarn for sewing.
Don’t cut the yarn on the second leg. We will continue crocheting the body.
Body:
Ch 2 from the second leg, join the legs.
1. 18 sc [18]
2 3 sc, 1 inc, 8 sc, 1 inc, 5 sc [20]
3-6. 20 sc [20] (4 rows)
7. 3 sc, 1 dec, 8 sc, 1 dec, 5 sc [18]
8. 3 sc, 1 dec, 7 sc, 1 dec, 4 sc [16]
9. (2 sc, 1 dec) * 4 [12]
Do not cut the yarn. Stuff the body.
Head:
Continue from the last row of the body.
1. FLO: (1 inc, 1 sc) * 6 [18]
2. (1 inc, 2 sc) * 6 [20]
3. (1 inc, 3 sc) * 6 [30]
4-9. 30 sc [30] (6 rows)
Insert the safety eyes on 6th row.
10. BLO: (1 dec, 3 sc) * 6 [24]
11. (1 dec, 2 sc) * 6 [18]
Stuff the head.
12. (1 dec, 1 sc) * 6 [12]
13. 6 dec [6]
Fasten off. Hide the yarn inside the toy.
Join thread to front loops on row 10.

Join the row with a sl st.
Cut the yarn, hide the end inside the head.
Hands:
(make 2 pieces)

Fasten off, leave a long yarn for sewing.
Vines:
Chain 57 (make more or less chains depending on your toy size).
Assembly:
Sew the hands and vines to the body.
Embroider the mouth.
Embroider green leaves.
