Materials:

  • Yarn: YarnArt Jeans or Alize Cotton Gold
  • Crochet: 2 – 2.5 mm, depends on how tight you crochet
  • Sewing needle and scissors
  • Stitch marker
  • Fiberfill

Abbreviations:

  • mr – magic ring
  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • inc – increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
  • dec – decrease (single crochet 2 stitches together)
  • hdc – half double crochet
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • [12] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row
  • ( ) * x – repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated

Bottom part:

1. 6 sc in mr [6]
2. inc * 6 [12]
3. (sc, inc) * 6 [18]
4. (2 sc, inc) * 6 [24]
5. (3 sc, inc) * 6 [30]
6. (4 sc, inc) * 6 [36]
7. (5 sc, inc) * 6 [42]
Fasten off.

Tentacles (make 3):

Chain 57.
Turn and start crocheting from the 3rd chain from the hook.
Make 2 hdc in each stitch until the end of the row.
Fasten off. Leave a long yarn for sewing.

Tentacles (make 6):

Chain 65.
Turn and start crocheting from the 2nd chain from the hook.
Make sl st in each stitch until the end of the row.
Fasten off. Leave a long yarn for sewing.

Tentacles (make 6):

Chain 61.
Turn and start crocheting from the 3rd chain from the hook:
2 sl st, chain 3, 2 sl st (starting from the 2nd chain from the hook on the chain you just crocheted), sl st on the main chain.
Then again chain 3, make 2 sl st on this chain and 1 sl st on the main chain. Repeat until the end of the row.
Fasten off. Leave a long yarn for sewing.

Little ball:

1. 6 sc in mr [6]
2. inc * 6 [12]
3. (sc, inc) * 6 [18]
4. 18 sc [18]
5. (sc, dec) * 6 [12]
6. dec * 6 [6]
Stuff the ball, fasten off and leave a long yarn to be able to chain 36.

Don’t cut the yarn.
22. Put the top and bottom part together and crochet 42 sc through both parts. [42]
Stuff as you go.
23. 2 sc in each st [84]
24. 2 hdc in each st [168]
Fasten off. Cut the yarn and weave in the end.

Embroider the eyes between rows 17 and 18, 6 stitches apart.
