Teddy bear crochet pattern

If you are a newbie and looking for an easy crochet pattern, then this tiny amigurumi bear crochet pattern is just for you. It is easy to crochet, doesn’t take too much time and it’s a good pattern to learn how to crochet amigurumi toys.

Materials:

  • Yarn: YarnArt Jeans or Alize Cotton Gold (any color for the toy, white or milky for the muzzle, black for the nose)
  • Crochet: 2.5 – 3 mm, depends on how tight you crochet
  • Eyes: 6mm safety eyes (or you can embroider with black yarn)
  • Sewing needle and scissors
  • Stitch marker
  • Fiberfill

Abbreviations:

  • mr – magic ring
  • ch – chain
  • st – stitch
  • sc – single crochet
  • inc – 2 sc in the same stitch
  • dec – single crochet 2 stitches together
  • [12] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row
  • ( ) * x – repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated

Pattern:

Head:

1. 6 sc in mr [6]
2. inc * 6 [12]
3. (sc, inc) * 6 [18]
4. (2 sc, inc) * 6 [24]
5. (3 sc, inc) * 6 [30]
6. (4 sc, inc) * 6 [36]
7-12. 1 sc in each st around [36] (6 rows)
13. (4 sc, dec) * 6 [30]
14. (3 sc, dec) * 6 [24]
15. (2 sc, dec) * 6 [18]
16. (sc, dec) * [12]
Fasten off, leave a long yarn for sewing.

Legs:

Leg 1:
1. 10 sc in mr [10]
2-6. 1 sc in each st around [10](5 rows)
Fasten off.
Leg 2:
1. 10 sc in mr [10]
2-6. 1 sc in each st around [10](5 rows)
Do not fasten off, we will continue to make the body.

Body:

7. chain 2, then attach Leg 2 to Leg 1,
sc 10 to Leg 1, then sc 2 to chain 2,
then sc 10 to Leg 2, then sc2 to chain 2 [24]
8-13. 1 sc in each st around [24] (6 rows)
14. (2 sc, dec) * 6 [18]
15. 1 sc in each st around [18]
16. (sc, dec) * 6 [12]

Fasten off. Stuff with fiberfill.

Arms:

1. 8 sc in mr [8]
2-8. 1 sc in each st around [8] (7 rows)
Stuff with fiberfill.
Close the 2 ends with 4 sc, then fasten off, leave a long yarn for sewing.

Ears:

1. 6 sc in mr [6]
2. inc * 6 [12]
3-5. 1 sc in each st around [12] (3 rows)
Fasten off, leave a long yarn for sewing.

Muzzle:

(white yarn)
1. 6 sc in mr [6]
2. inc * 6 [12]
Fasten off, leave a long yarn for sewing.

Alternative muzzle pattern:
1. Make 12 dc in mr [12]
Fasten off, leave a long yarn for sewing.

Assembly:

Sew the head to the body.
Embroider nose to muzzle with black yarn (as shown in the picture below), or any other color you prefer.
Attach eyes at round 9-10 with 6 stitches apart or embroider them.
Attach ears at round 2-3.
Embroider eyebrows on top of the eyes.

Decoration suggestion:

I prefer to crochet a small bow and sew it on the seam between the head and the body.
