February is about LOVE, this is why we’ve decided to search for Valentine’s Day crochet patterns a little bit earlier. We’ve found this Valentine Kitten crochet pattern designed by @cutiemestore and please believe us when we tell you that the result is adorable.

Materials:
- Yarn: YarnArt Jeans or Alize Cotton Gold (red color for the toy, pink to embroider the face)
- Crochet: 2 – 2.5 mm, depends on how tight you crochet
- 8 mm safety eyes
- Sewing needle and scissors
- Stitch marker
- Fiberfill
- Wire: 0.8 mm – approx. 25 cm
Abbreviations:
- mr – magic ring
- ch – chain
- sc – single crochet
- inc – increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
- dec – decrease (single crochet 2 stitches together)
- sl st – slip stitch
- bo – bobble stitch (5 dc together)
- BLO – back loop only
- FLO – front loop only
- [12] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row
- ( ) * x – repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated

Body and head:
1. 8 sc in mr [8]
2. inc * 8 [16]
3. (sc, inc) * 8 [24]
4. (2 sc, inc) * 8 [32]
5. BLO: 32 sc [32]
6. 6 sc, dec, 5 sc, bo, 4 sc, bo, 5 sc, dec, 6 sc [30]
7-8. sc in each st around [30]
9. 4 sc, (dec, 8 sc) * 2, dec, 4 sc [27]
10. sc in each st around [27]
11. (7 sc, dec) * 3 [24]
12. 3 sc, (dec, 6 sc) * 2, dec, 3 sc [21]
13. (5 sc, dec) * 3 [18]
14. sc in each st around [18]
15. inc * 18 [36]
16. (5 sc, inc) * 6 [42]
17. (6 sc, inc) * 6 [48]
Start stuffing the toy.
18-22. sc in each st around [48]

If you use safety eyes, it is the best moment to place them between rows 20 and 21, leaving 9 sc between them.
Stuff it again.

31. 11 sc (you should reach the 12 left side of the cat), flatten the head and make 12 sc through both sides until the end of the row [12]
Fasten off, cut the yarn, weave in the end.
Head sculpting:
Go back to 5th row and crochet in front loops only : ch 1, sl st in each st around, sl st in the 1st ch of the row.
Fasten off, cut the yarn, weave in the end.
Take a piece of main yarn and a needle. Insert the needle in the bottom of the body between rows 1 and 2 and bring it out at the top of the head, then insert it back from the opposite side of the last row. Bring out the needle in the bottom of the body, 2 stitches away from the entry point. Lightly pull both yarn ends and, keeping the yarn tension, tie a knot of both yarn ends. Hide the yarn ends inside the body.
Face embroidering:
Take a piece of pink yarn and embroider the nose on row 20, centering it between the eyes. The height of the nose – 1sc, the width of the bottom part – 1 sc, top part – 3 sc. Make a line under the nose.
With the same yarn, embroider the eyelashes.
Tail:
1. 6 sc in mr [6]
2-45. sc in each st around [6]
Fasten off, leave a long yarn for sewing.
Take a piece of wire and make a loop from one side. Attach the other side of the wire to the back of the toy between rows 6 and 7. Insert the wire inside the tail, then sew the tail to the body.
Twist the wire into a heart shape.
Tie a ribbon around the neck.
