Free dragon crochet pattern

Also, dragons are very important in Chinese culture and are often associated with business prosperity, bountiful harvests, good health, and protection. Unlike their European counterparts, not many Chinese dragons breathe fire, rather they are more often associated with water.

Materials:

  • Yarn: YarnArt Jeans or Alize Cotton Gold (I used Alize Cotton Gold 485 for the body and milky for the wings and crest)
  • Crochet: 2 – 2.5 mm, depends on how tight you crochet
  • Eyes: 12 mm safety eyes ( I used 10 mm eyes)
  • Sewing needle and scissors
  • Stitch marker
  • Fiberfill

Assembly:

Tighten the eyes, then embroider them (eye whites, eyelashes, eyebrows).
Embroider the cheeks between rows 12-13 (4 stitches).
Attach and sew the head to the body.
Sew the hands to the body between rows 28-29.
Attach and sew the legs to the body between rows 12-13.
Sew the tail to the body between rows 8-15.
Attach and sew the big crests starting on the 21st row of the head and the small pieces to the tail.
Sew the wings to the back of the body between rows 21-15.
